I decided that since I was home, there was no sense in keeping plugged in the cordless/answering maching phone, so I unplugged it as I have another phone I can use. We'll see how it works. Hope no calls come in when I'm otherwise indisposed. Hope I also remember to plug it in when I leave.

On second thought, maybe it's better to have it plugged in while I'm home for the convenience of a cordless, and turned off when I'm not home. That way long distance callers can call back on their dime when I'm home. Naw. That probably borderlines cheap instead of frugal.
